A New Fandom on My Part of FFA
I have opened a new fandom under my portion of FanFicAuthors.net. In it you will find Jane Austen fanfiction written by my wonderful and talented wife, Pamela St Vines. She’s a better writer than I am, and also is my beta reader under the name, ebdarcy. Please give it a look if you’re a fan of Austen, or even if you liked the A & E production of Pride and Prejudice. Most of Pamela’s work is AU of that particular novel. Thanks for giving her work a shot.
Reading "Great Scott, Potter" and "The Granger Defense" Concurrently
Harry Potter Fanfiction is about Harry Potter - big surprise there. My two parallel stories will be very similar until about chapter thirteen,
although there have been differences all along, and will be more up to that chapter.
With the next two parallel chapters posting, I will color code the passages that are different. Hopefully that will eliminate the frustration when reading both and trying to find the variations
as they exist now.
Pick you preference in ships - "Great Scott, Potter" for Harry/Ginny, "The Granger Defense" for Harry/Hermione, and then only read the differences in the other to follow both.
Big variations coming soon.
Thanks for reading and reviewing.
My Affinity with Mr. Ollivander
I discovered Harry Potter fanfiction trying to determine why JKR chose 382 B.C. for the Ollivanders founding date. Nothing extra special occurred that year in Muggle history to set it apart, so I assume she just pulled that date out of the ethos. I also searched and searched, but I’ve never found a single fanfic story telling how Ollivanders began in 382 B.C.
Since I never could find that story, I decided to write it myself. “Makers of Fine Wands since 382 B.C.” is complete and being posted here; I will have the final chapters up quickly. I believe it is my most original work to date. It tells the tale of how the Potterverse magic was first discovered and developed, and how the first wand and many of our better-known spells and charms were invented.
Placing myself in Mr. Ollivander’s mindset was the only way to write it, and since I am well past the average age of fanfiction readers and writers, I feel a great connectedness to the master wandmaker.
